INSPECTION SUPPORT AND MPT SERVICES FOR NBIS INSPECTIONS OF VARIOUS OVERHEAD SIGN STRUCTURES LOCATED THROUGHOUT PENNDOT DISTRICTS 1-0, 9-0, 10-0, 11-0, & 12-0 IN WESTERN PENNSYLVANIA Mackin Engineering Company, Inc. has been contracted by the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation to perform in-depth inspections of various overhead sign structures located throughout PennDOT Districts 1-0, 9-0, 10-0, 11-0, & 12-0 in western Pennsylvania. The inspections are scheduled to be performed at various times from February 2014 to February 2019. Mackin Engineering Company will require services of a Contractor to provide inspection support services and maintenance & protection of traffic (MPT) on high traffic volume roadways during inspection. Mackin Engineering Company will receive separate sealed bids from qualified Contractors for the inspection support services and MPT services until 10:00 AM, Tuesday, February 21, 2014 in Mackin Engineering Company's Pittsburgh Office located at RIDC Park West, 117 Industry Drive, Pittsburgh, Pa 15275. Complete bid packages may be obtained from Bill Harris, P.E. of Mackin Engineering Company at the same address or by calling (412) 788-0472 between the hours of 7:15 AM and 4:00 PM. The Contractor must provide evidence of at least 10 years of experience in providing MPT services on PennDOT projects of similar size and complexity for the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation and references (including contact person and phone number) from previous projects. The Contractor must provide MPT in strict accordance with PennDOT Publication 212/213, and make available the following equipment in good working order along with properly trained, competent, equipment operators. - (1) 45' vertical reach Articulating Telescopic Bucket Truck . - (1) or (2) Shadow vehicles as required per Publication 212/213 - (1) Equipment (tool) truck with flashing yellow beacon light - Various tools and equipment to perform bolt replacement on sign structures (required list of tools provided with bid package) - Traffic control equipment and signs for traffic patterns on high-volume roadways for daylight and night inspections in accordance with PennDOT Publication 212/213 Bids will be opened Tuesday, February 21, 2014. Mackin Engineering Company will award the contract to the lowest responsible bidder. Mackin Engineering Company reserves the right to reject any or all bids deemed not in conformance with the bid requirements.
