ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS Separate and sealed proposals will be received by The Municipal Authority of the Borough of West View, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, at the Authority office located at 210 Perry Highway, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania 15229, until 2:00 p.m., prevailing time, on Tuesday, March 18, 2014, and opened and read immediately thereafter for the following project: NEVILLE ISLAND WATER TREATMENT PLANT EMERGENCY/STANDBY GENERATOR REPLACEMENT CONTRACT NUMBER 14-10 Copies of the Contract Documents and Plans may be obtained at the office of Bankson Engineers, Inc., 267 Blue Run Road, Cheswick, PA 15024 (Office), P.O. Box 200, Indianola, PA 15051 (Mail), for the nonrefundable fee of $50.00 per set. Each proposal shall be accompanied by a certified check, cashier's check or bidder's bond in favor of The Municipal Authority of the Borough of West View in the amount of not less than ten percent (10%) of the amount of the proposal as evidence the bidder will accept and carry out the conditions of the contract in case of award. This project is subject to the provisions of the Pennsylvania Prevailing Wage Act. Workers must be paid not less than the prevailing minimum wages as established by the Pennsylvania Department of Labor and Industry, as shown in the applicable schedule. The Authority reserves the right to waive any informality in and to accept or reject any and all bids. No bid may be withdrawn for sixty days (60) after the same has been filed with The Municipal Authority of the Borough of West View. The Authority also retains the right to investigate the qualifications of bidders prior to contract award and to award contracts only to contractors who, in the sole judgment of The Municipal Authority of the Borough of West View, are qualified and equipped to properly complete the work.
