NOTICE TO BIDDERS CARNEGIE MUSESUMS OF PITTSBURGH Separate sealed Bids for the Work as listed hereinafter will be received at Carnegie Museums of Pittsburgh (CMP), Department of Facilities, Planning & Operations (FP&O), 4400 Forbes Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA 15213 until 3:30PM on Thursday, August 28, 2014 and will be publicly opened and read immediately at the same address in the FP&O conference room. CARNEGIE SCIENCE CENTER, "SCIENCE LANDING" RIVERFRONT PROJECT The work of this project includes concrete wall demolition, expansion of the outside patio area, a new asphalt pathway and concrete steps connecting to the public trail, new light fixtures, new electrical receptacles, and landscaping improvements in accordance with the bid documents. Bid Documents will be available for public inspection and may be obtained on or after August 12, 2014 at CMP offices at the following address: Carnegie Museums of Pittsburgh, Department of Facilities, Planning & Operations, 4400 Forbes Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA 15213. Bid Documents will be available for pick-up on weekdays until noon. Construction drawings and specifications are available electronically. This Project is funded in part by the Gaming Economic Development Fund. Compliance is required with the Pennsylvania Prevailing Wage Act of 1961, P.L. 987, No. 442; Title VI and other applicable provisions of the Civil Rights Act of 1964; the Department of Labor Equal Opportunity Clause (41 CFR 60 -1.4); Executive Order 11625 (Utilization of Minority Business Enterprise); Executive Order 12138 (Utilization of Female Business Enterprise); in compliance with Section 504 of Rehabilitation Act of 1973 and Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990; and the Allegheny County MBE/WBE Program enacted July, 1981, which sets forth goals of 13 percent Minority and 2 percent Female Business Enterprise. Attendance is not mandatory, but is strongly recommended. Prospective bidders will meet in the main lobby of the Science Center. The Bidder is advised that CMP will award the contract to the lowest responsible bidder based on the total bid submitted for all work listed. However, the bidder is advised that CMP expressly reserves the right to reject all bids, and specifically reserves the right to award to the lowest responsible bidder a contract for all or any portions of the work listed in the proposal, and in awarding a contract for less than the total work listed, the contract price will be determined from the total quantities for each item listed and the unit price for each item listed.
