Pursuant to the Land Recycling and Environmental Remediation Standards Act, the act of May 19, 1995, P.L. 4, No. 1995-2., notice is hereby given that Crossroads Acquisitions LLC has submitted to the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection a Notice of Intent to Remediate a site located at 3855 Washington Road, Canonsburg, Pennsylvania in Peters Township, Washington County. This Notice of Intent to Remediate states that the site historically operated as an automotive repair / gasoline station from approximately the 1900s through the 1950s. Based upon the findings of a Phase II ESA, volatile organic compound impacts (1,1,2,2-tetrachloroethane and 1,3,5-trimethylbenzene) were identified above Non-Residential Statewide Health Standards within shallow site soils; no groundwater was encountered. Crossroads Acquisitions LLC has indicated that the proposed remediation measures will be to perform limited soil excavations to remove the identified areas of impacts. The excavated soils will be removed from the site for off-site disposal and management. The proposed future use of the property will be non-residential.
