Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) Draft Pennsylvania State Rail Plan Open House Public Meetings September 15, 16, & 17, 2015 PennDOT, in consultation with the Federal Railroad Administration, is in the process of updating the Pennsylvania State Rail Plan (SRP). The SRP is a tool that allows the Commonwealth to identify a clear vision for the future of rail transportation in the state, to set objectives for achieving that vision, and to document and evaluate passenger and freight rail needs over the course of the next 25 years to guide investments in the state's rail network. PennDOT invites you to attend an Open House Public Meeting to review the draft 2015 SRP. The information presented at this meeting will include existing/future conditions mapping and proposed passenger and freight rail improvements across the state. The draft SRP will also include the draft Rail Service and Investment Plan outlining the SRP program, which is meant to achieve Pennsylvania's vision for providing safe, convenient, reliable, cost-effective connections for people and goods by rail. The draft 2015 Pennsylvania State Rail Plan can also be reviewed and comments provided at http://PlantheKeystone.com/StateRailPlan.html. The department will host three (3) Open House Public Meetings. The information presented at each meeting will be the same. Community members are invited to stop by to learn about the plan, provide input, and ask questions.
